At WISE Partnership, our vision for the WISE Central Hub is bold yet simple: to transform over two acres of vacant land in Detroit into a vibrant, sustainable community center where opportunity, education, and well-being flourish for all. We’re creating an innovative and inclusive campus, designed to be a model of community revitalization, featuring everything from educational centers to workforce development spaces, a cultural arts pavilion, and urban farming—all powered by solar energy.

Our Vision for the WISE Central Hub

The WISE Central Hub will bring together essential resources and services that our community needs to thrive. We’re building this campus from the ground up with a vision that goes beyond brick and mortar. It’s about planting the seeds for a future where Detroit’s underserved communities have access to quality education, safe recreational spaces, economic opportunity, and an environment that prioritizes sustainability.

Our plans include:

Victory Village Center of Literacy and Learning: A place to inspire young minds and support adult learners with classrooms equipped with the latest technology.
Marketplace and Café: A lively market featuring a commercial kitchen and dining areas, where fresh produce from our on-site urban farm is available to all.
Move Institute and Just Speak Inc.: A peaceful sanctuary for youth to express themselves through dance, mindfulness, and movement, with spaces for trauma-informed care.
Cultural Arts & Small Store: A versatile arts space with a small auditorium and outdoor bandshell, where community members can enjoy performances, art exhibitions, and multimedia projects.
Reel Roots Multimedia Studio: A cutting-edge media space for aspiring young journalists, filmmakers, and podcasters.
Workforce Development Center: A dedicated training space offering hands-on skills in landscaping, carpentry, and urban agriculture, with an emphasis on serving Detroit’s marginalized populations.

With community input at the heart of our planning, we’re designing a space that’s secure, welcoming, and open to all—complete with solar-powered lighting, charging stations disguised as trees, permeable walkways, natural plant fencing, and dedicated areas for green energy initiatives.

How We’ve Already Started Making a Difference

WISE has committed to creating real change in Detroit, and we’ve already begun engaging with the community in tangible ways. This past summer, we adopted two neighborhood parks, bringing life and joy back to forgotten spaces. Through partnerships, we provided over 1,000 free books, 200 flowers, and 40 bikes. In collaboration with the Detroit Parks Coalition, we organized summer events filled with fresh produce from Eastern Market, a basketball clinic, and engaging activities that rekindled a sense of pride and connection in the community.
