In recognition of Global Volunteer Month and National Volunteer Week, Hands On Atlanta is thrilled to announce our 1,000,000th volunteer as part of our 2024 Spring for Service!

Whether you volunteer with us, represent a corporation or community organization, contribute as a donor, serve on our board, or embody all these roles, we’re celebrating YOU as one of the million who have made a difference with us over the last 35 years.

We continue to work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of people across Atlanta, and reaching this milestone is a true testament to the dedication of our volunteers and supporters. But as it stands today, two out of three volunteer or service spots remain unfilled. Last year, we mobilized 42,000 people to do 205,000 hours of service, yet 80,000 volunteer opportunities remained vacant.

It tells us that there’s still more work to do. This year, we’re on track to mobilize 50,000 people, meaning our reach has grown nearly 20% over the last year. Your support of Spring for Service enables us continue to grow, helping to fill the gap in unmet needs through civic engagement and education programs.

For every $1 you donate to Hands On Atlanta, $6 in economic impact is created.

Hands On Atlanta was founded in 1989 with a mission to mobilize the Atlanta community to tackle our city’s most pressing needs. Now in our 35th year, we have a vision to make Atlanta the most civically engaged and equitable community in the world.
