The Pick-Me-Up Box is dedicated toward bringing hope to teens suffering from anxiety and depression. We envision a world where adolescents and adults can understand the signs of early depression and work towards creating a positive environment for
anyone who struggles with mental health. According to the 2016 Fairfax Youth Survey Report, over 60,000 Fairfax County students face depressive symptoms every year, and over one-third of the students reported experiencing a high level of stress in the past month. We at Pick-Me-Up realize the growing importance of mental health awareness in our schools and we hope to address this issue using the Pick-Me-Up Box.
The Pick-Me-Up Box contains 5-6 curated wellness items, such as a plush toy, a relaxation coloring book, and essential oils, that aim to help kids (and adults!) decompress and relax. We surveyed over 130 high school students to gain insight into what's worrying today's teens, and we’ve discussed our product with school psychologists to learn from their expertise and ensure this box acts in the best interest of our customers.
We're a team of five passionate high school student entrepreneurs venturing out to create our first startup through Junior Achievement's Company Program. We've learned a lot along the way, and we appreciate all your support in helping us debut our product to the community.
Thank you so much!
