KACEE Staff & Board have been busy as bees in 2022, working to advance environmental education in Kansas and across the country! A few things we've accomplished this year:

We kicked off our AmeriCorps Kansas planning grant in preparation for starting our own environmental education AmeriCorps program in Kansas in fall 2023! This program will expand the reach and impact of EE statewide by building capacity at regional EE host sites across Kansas.

KACEE hired former Board Member, Leonore Enfield, as our new Director of Outreach and Student Engagement! Leonore spends half of her time rebuilding the Kansas WILD Outdoors program and half her time on the AmeriCorps program.

Our Director of Kansas Green Schools, Rachel, kicked off the Kansas Green School Virtual Academy, helping teams of teachers and students complete the Kansas Green Schools Investigations successfully, making real-world impacts in their schools and communities!

KACEE hosted over a dozen eeCourses, providing PreK-12 formal and non-formal educators with an introduction to environmental education, and the skills necessary to integrate curriculum guides like Project Learning Tree, Project WILD Aquatic, and Project WET environmental activities within their classrooms, homeschool classrooms, and programs.

We hosted a successful in-person Excellence in Environmental Education Awards Celebration in Manhattan and co-hosted with the Missouri Environmental Education Association an in-person Environmental Education Conference in Kansas City!
