As the Work-Based Learning Coordinator for Roanoke City Public Schools, I have seen firsthand how our students are able to earn real-life work experience and certifications to prepare for their career. The Roanoke Technical Education Center prepares students for an amazing career, one they are able to jumpstart while still in high school!

High school students are becoming more critical to the local labor force, and our students learn valuable skills that will translate into any career they choose.

I am also seeing more of our students in leadership roles in local businesses. It’s exciting to see them become successful and to follow their passions.
