This year marks the 20th year of the Walk for the Mind, and we are returning to business as usual- FINALLY! Please join us for the 20th Annual Walk for the Mind! Registration Fees: Walker Registration: $20.00 ($23.00 2X shirt & 3X shirt) Walker Registration Children 10 yrs. & under with Youth Medium Shirt $10.00 Survivor Registration: Free Online Registration: Click on the purple Registration banner above. Early registration runs through August 19. Register early to guarantee a shirt. Mail In Registration: Mail in registration forms can be found at www.marklinderwalkforthemind.org Early Registration (through August 19) Shirt Pick Up: Shirts may be picked up the day before the walk on September 23, 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM at the Peoria Riverplex, 600 NE Water St., Peoria, IL or the day of the walk, September 24, 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM. Late Registration (after August 19) Shirt Pick Up: Late registrants may pick up a shirt the day of the walk if their size is available on September 24, 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM at the Peoria Riverplex, 600 NE Water St., Peoria, IL. Story
The Mark Linder Walk for the Mind is a one mile walk to support brain tumor research and to raise awareness of brain tumors and their impact on those in Central Illinois. At the walk we will honor those lost to brain tumors, their families, friends and loved ones and celebrate those who have survived. This year marks the 20th year of the Mark Linder Walk for the Mind. Mark Linder created the Walk after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2003. Sadly, Mark lost his battle in 2005 at the age of 31 but not before he got to see his vision making a difference. Mark would be so proud to see how the Walk has grown to over 1000 participants and raised 1 million dollars for brain tumor research. All net proceeds are donated to the “Brain Tumor Research Program” at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Come celebrate 20 years of the Mark Linder Walk for the Mind!
