WFM 2022 Sponsorships

Dear Market Friends,

We are very excited to begin our 2022 season! Last year was our largest and most well-attended market in our 13-year history and, with your support, we were able to provide our community with fresh and nutritious food while also supporting local farmers. Shoppers enjoyed a variety of food vendors, artisans, music, and events against the background of our gorgeous and unique lakeside location. Thank you!

This season we expect the Wakefield Farmers Market to be even busier. We are not-for-profit and run by a small board of dedicated volunteers. The market relies on vendor fees and business sponsors. We ask you to consider partnering with us to sponsor the following “wish list” items. Once a goal amount is met, any additional funds designated for that category would be directed to another.

  1. SNAP matching program: Easily our largest (non-operations) expense. SNAP is a state-run program that provides funds to those experiencing food insecurity for access to fresh fruits and vegetables (no alcoholic beverages or ready-made food). It has been well documented that Americans experiencing food insecurity are often unable to purchase enough nutrient-rich produce due to high-prices and/or access. SNAP demand has increased significantly since COVID and is steadily climbing. Since 2011, we have been matching *an additional* $10 per week to our SNAP clients. We would like to raise this to $15 or $20, depending on the generosity of our sponsors.
  2. Live Music: We feel strongly about supporting live entertainment and are proud to have offered great music and opportunities to local musicians for years now.
  3. New tents: Lake weather does a job on our poor tents and after 13 years–it’s time!
  4. General operating expenses: Being non-profit, we run a lean budget. Unusual expenses (COVID procedures, replacing equipment) and general growth can provide a challenge for us. A boost in our operating funds will also give us the opportunity to expand our advertising, staff, community outreach, and events.

If you are interested in helping us achieve our goals by sponsoring the market, checks can be made out to Wakefield Farmers Market and sent to the address below. Sponsorship levels and payment information are provided on the attached page. We greatly appreciate your consideration and wish you all a healthy and happy market season!
