2024 AIDS Walk

Fall has arrived, and that means it's time for APO's Annual AIDS Walk!

This year, the walk will take place on Saturday, October 12th, starting and ending at Phelps Grove Park. The theme is "Let's Stop HIV Together"—a cause we can all pledge to support. While most of us aren't scientists working on a cure or vaccine for this disease, which has been a part of our lives for over 40 years, we all have a role in raising awareness and doing what we can. Whether it's taking charge of our health by getting tested regularly or helping to reduce the stigma that still surrounds HIV, every one of us plays a part. It takes all of us to be present, aware, educated, and committed to the fight.

As mentioned, the walk will begin and end at Phelps Grove Park. Gathering starts at 9 AM at the park pavilion, with the walk kicking off at 10 AM. AIDS Walk shirts will be available that morning for a donation of $25 or more. Even if you can't join us for the walk, we still encourage you to donate, as you will receive a shirt for every $25 you give. Just don't forget to include your shirt size(s) in the note field. Every donation goes directly to client services, helping APO make life a little easier for those we serve. Your contribution helps cover co-pays, medications, behavioral health counseling, housing needs, transportation to medical appointments, and even pantry baskets with cleaning and toiletry items. Plus, by wearing your AIDS Walk shirt, you’re helping to break down stigma and start conversations that can lead to real change.

Bring the family—including the four-legged members—out to Phelps Grove Park on Saturday, October 12th, as we walk for life at the 31st Annual AIDS Walk!
