To me, a My Hometown Heros scholarship would mean that I can somehow repay my parents for everything they have done for me throughout my life. I had the same response last year but I still feel the same way. As I've grown older I'm starting to understand how hard it must have been for them to see me go through treatment, cry all the time, not understand what is going on and so much more. I can't imagine the struggle they went through. My mother had to quit her job to take care of me, my parents entire focus was on me. I can't imagine what my treatment did to my younger brother as well, the hardship my family had to go through to try and continue to keep my brother and I happy is insane for me to think about. Without the love and support my parents have given me my whole life, I wouldn't be the human I am today. Receiving this scholarship would mean I can somehow repay my parents for everything they've done for me, even though no money or objects would even come close to what they did for me.
