I'm honored and thrilled to be able to run for the Sam Day Foundation and the Buddy Run. I am a wife, mom of 4, and I love to run. Our family has been deeply impacted by the toll and loss associated with cancer. With the loss of Sam and losing another close friend, it feels so personal, necessary, and extremely close to our hearts. If this run is a way to raise awareness and funds to further cancer research, then, I am ALL IN!
I'm running in honor of Yoav.
A note from Yoav's parents:
Yoav is a young man who loves to hang out with his friends. He is a happy kid and enjoys playing video games and building complex Lego sets. He loves to listen to music.
Yoav’s diagnosis is Ewing sarcoma. He completed treatment on August 2023. Unfortunately, on February 2024 after a routine follow up, Yoav found out that his cancer had come back. He is now receiving treatment once again.
Here is what Yoav's family would like you to know about childhood cancer: "It is very difficult to be a teenager in his prime and deal with cancer. It effects every aspect of life. School, every day tasks and activities. Everything changes."
