Here we go AGAIN: my fourth jump into the FREEZING pond… for the kids!! Let’s double what we raised last year! Help me on my journey to raise $2000 for financial assistance to allow ALL kids to come to camp. Thank you to all of the support in my journey, let’s do this!!

Hi, my name is Angie Dortenzio, better known as Miss Angie from June through August and Coach Angie every other month! (You might not recognize me without my whistle in the Southington gymnasium!) I have the pleasure of leading our elementary aged campers throughout their summer and sharing the magic of Sloper that I have received and created over the last 18, almost 19 summers.

Beginning in June 2023, I joined the YMCA team as the Youth Program Director, a full time position, completing the life goal of becoming a professional camp counselor. If there’s one thing you learn about me, I hope it’s my love and passion for YMCA Camp Sloper and summer camps as a whole. There is a magic in confidence building, friendship making, and overall good fun. 

With your donations, I will be plunging into the water on February 24, 2024 to raise money for kids to come to camp. YMCA Camp Sloper gives campers the opportunity to enjoy their summer by making friends, go swimming, laughing, making arts and crafts, and so much more… with our character values and strong role models, children are exposed to positive development at an early age. 
Let’s make my goal of TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS… so I am FREEZIN’ for a REASON! Thank you!
