The Edwards College fosters collaboration, creative expression, and experiential learning to prepare students to become active participants in local and global communities.

Giving Teal Tuesday directly funds both the Edwards College Board of Visitors Scholarship and the Edwards College First Generation Scholarship, both of which have an immediate and lasting impact on students’ lives.

Each year, the Edwards College offers the First-Generation Scholarship, focusing on students who are among the first generation of their families to graduate from college. Our First-Generation Scholarship winners are successful, engaged students committed to achieving their goal of earning a degree in the humanities and fine arts. Recent winners of the Edwards College First Generation Scholarship include Romello Bruster, graphic design major, and Jaiden Newcomer, history major.

The Edwards College Board of Visitors is a leadership group of alumni and community leaders who participate in philanthropy and program and event planning on behalf of the college. The Board of Visitors (BOV) scholarship recognizes students who achieve a strong academic record and demonstrate exceptional potential for leadership.

A recent winner of the Edwards College BOV Scholarship is Grace Gardner a senior B.F.A. theatre design and production major.
Grace noted that the BOV scholarship allows her to focus more fully on her classes and serves as encouragement for her to succeed. Grace is particularly proud of her involvement with UPstage, a student group that annually stages three productions, produces a charity dance concert, and holds monthly cabarets. Grace said Kevin Ferguson, lecturer in the Department of Theatre, has supported her and her work throughout her CCU career.
