About Cherokee Makerspace

We are thrilled to share that Firestorm Robotics and Atlanta Droids, two sister teams in the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge), have achieved an incredible milestone: winning the State Championships! Our hard work, innovation, and teamwork have earned us a spot at the prestigious FIRST Championships in Houston, Texas, this April. Now, we need your support to make this dream a reality.

Who We Are

Firestorm Robotics and Atlanta Droids are two dynamic FTC robotics teams based out of Cherokee Makerspace in Acworth, GA. Comprised of passionate, talented middle and high school students, we combine to design, build, and program competitive robots facing real-world engineering challenges. Through robotics, we learn critical STEM skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership, preparing us to become the innovators of tomorrow.

Our teams share a commitment to excellence, creativity, and community outreach. Over the past season, we have worked tirelessly to design innovative robots, program advanced solutions, and strategize for competitions. These efforts paid off at the State Championships, where we demonstrated exceptional skill and determination.

Why We Need Your Support

The FIRST Championships in Houston, TX, is an extraordinary opportunity for our teams to compete on a global stage, learn from other robotics teams worldwide, and showcase the power of STEM. However, attending this event requires significant funding to cover expenses such as:

Robot parts and materials for further upgrades and repairs
Registration fees for the Championship
Team uniforms and banners to represent Georgia with pride
Travel and accommodation for mentors and members

We aim to raise at least $18,000 to ensure every team member can participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your generosity will directly impact our ability to attend and compete at the Championships. We believe this is the first time a Cherokee County team is going to Worlds.
