Room to Thrive: MIDB Sensory Initiative

In 2025, Custom One Charities is launching a heartfelt new initiative to support the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB)—a pioneering center dedicated to advancing care and research for children with neurodevelopmental and mental health challenges like autism, ADHD, and rare developmental disorders.

Together with our community, we’re raising funds to help MIDB build two vital sensory spaces:

- A sensory gym for movement and regulation
- A calming sensory room for rest, quiet, and decompression

These spaces are designed to provide comfort, dignity, and healing for patients and their families during what can be an overwhelming experience. For many of these children, traditional clinical settings can trigger distress and sensory overload. MIDB’s sensory rooms will offer relief and support in a way that truly meets them where they are.

This is more than a room—it’s a refuge.
And we’ve committed to helping make it happen.

Our goal? Raise funds as part of a 5-year, $300,000 commitment from Custom One Charities to transform these ideas into reality. Every dollar goes directly toward building and furnishing these rooms with the tools, textures, lighting, and equipment that will change how kids experience care.
