We are celebrating a monumental milestone in 2025: 30 years of the Camp Randall Rowing Club! To honor this special anniversary, we're embarking on an epic journey for our 30th Anniversary Ergathon—a virtual challenge to row from Madison, Wisconsin, to Sarasota, Florida, the home of the US Rowing Junior National Championships. This year, 45 Junior athletes will row 1,816 miles (or 2,922,570 meters). This will require teamwork, competition, and camaraderie between the teams.

The 30th Anniversary Ergathon Journey and Challenge

As we “row” our way through the 2025 Ergathon challenge, athlete teams will win additional prize money provided by our corporate sponsors toward our Ergathon goal. But beyond the competition, this journey is about forging new friendships and strengthening the rowing community.

Why This Matters

At Camp Randall Rowing Club, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive, and healthy environment for all rowers. In the fall of 2024 alone, we took home 31 medals from 38 events, including a course record and two boats requalifying for the 2025 Head of the Charles in Boston. We welcomed 26 middle schoolers, expanded our We Can Row program for cancer survivors, and made major improvements to our boathouse, transforming it into a welcoming space for members and visitors alike.

But we’re not stopping there. This year, we plan to recruit 20 new novices and increase middle school participation. We are committed to providing financial aid to families in need because we believe every athlete deserves the opportunity to row — regardless of their financial situation.
