New FJ Fleet 2025 Capital Campaign

Sailing Center Chesapeake is the home to the Leonardtown, Great Mills, and Chopticon high schools sailing teams. Sailing Center Chesapeake is a community sailing center and division of Southern Maryland Sailing Foundation. Our current fleet of FJ boats were purchased in 2018 and have served the community well. But, we are growing fast and our boats need to be replaced.

In order to replace them, we need to raise $59,000 by October. Please consider sponsoring our sailing center. Not only does Sailing Center Chesapeake provide an incredible opportunity for our teams to sail competitively against other Maryland and DC high schools, but they also serve the community by welcoming everyone that wants to learn to sail by offering a venue for groups and classes such as Spirit of America (middle school boater safety program), Stem Science Classes, and scout groups.  

Our teams regularly compete in Varsity and JV events in the Maryland Interscholastic Sailing Association (MDISA) which has 23+ schools from Washington D.C., Annapolis, Eastern Shore, and Southern Maryland. Our teams have excelled in our region, earning births at championship events at the district, regional, and national level.
