Three Marathons. Three Days. One Mission: Inclusion.
In 2023, I toed the line for the first time with The Kyle Pease Foundation at the Atlanta Publix Half Marathon, alongside my teammate Josh Porter. I didn’t know what to expect. Honestly, I was terrified. I wasn’t sure what I had gotten myself into.
I knew that Josh had physical limitations and that I’d be pushing him for 13.1 miles until we reached the finish line. What I didn’t know was that in just under two hours, I would rediscover the true meaning of teamwork—and form a bond I didn’t even know I needed.
Josh simply needed my legs to reach the finish line. What I needed was Josh’s spirit—to reignite the fire of competition and joy in running that I had lost. I’ve competed in sports my whole life, but somewhere along the way, that competitive edge had dulled. Running with Josh brought it back—and reminded me of a greater purpose.
We each had a gift. And unknowingly, we were sharing those gifts with one another.
One of my favorite quotes is:
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
That day, I found new meaning in running—and I have Josh and The Kyle Pease Foundation to thank for that.
Since then, I’ve become more and more a part of the Kyle Pease Foundation family. I wholeheartedly believe in their mission: to improve the lives of people with disabilities through sports and beyond, and to create a world where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to be included—in sport, in the workplace, and in our communities.
Every person deserves the euphoric feeling of crossing the finish line.
Every race I run, whether with an in-chair athlete or solo, I run for inclusion. Every step I take is to help create a world where everyone feels welcome, seen, and celebrated.
And now, I’m taking on the same wild challenge I did last year:
Three marathons. Three days.
Last year, it was ugly. It hurt. But I didn’t give up—because my “why” was too strong. I’m not giving up this year either.
The Kyle Pease Foundation can only continue providing opportunities for inclusion through generous support and donations. So, I’m asking:
Will you help me find three finish lines in three days—for my friends, my teammates, and everyone The Kyle Pease Foundation serves?

Your support means the world to me—and even more to the incredible athletes and families we run for.
Thank you for believing in inclusion.
Thank you for helping us move forward—together.
