I joined crew my freshman year only because my older siblings had done it. As I began to meet other novices, learn how to push myself, and experience the joy of being on the water, I found myself loving the sport more than I ever thought I would. There's nothing quite like rowing. This team has taught me how to take being a teammate seriously, how to set goals and work hard to achieve them, and how to stay positive, even on a rough day.
The team is now preparing for spring season. LB Crew is a club sport through Lake Braddock, which means we don't receive any funding from the school. We rely on donations from our friends, family, and community members for team expenses like new equipment and race entry fees.
This year we are raising money as part of our 2025 Erg-A-Thon event. During this event, our rowers will work together to row 1,000,000 meters on indoor rowing machines called ergs. This year’s event will take place on February 7th at Thomas Jefferson High School. In the spirit of camaraderie, we’ll be teaming up with our regular season competitors—TJ Crew and Mt. Vernon Crew—to row a 1,000,000 meters!
Please consider making a tax dedecutable donation to help me reach my fundraising goal of $325!
