Did you know, on average, it takes 7 attempts for a victim to leave an abuser? This is in part due to the struggles and obstacles they face when leaving. These victims often leave with very few personal items, sometimes just what they can carry on their back. To honor the uphill battle survivors face when fleeing, Jody will climb Mount Elbert. Like the victims Safenet serves, Jody will be taking only essentials she can carry on her back.
Last year, her journey to the summit was physically and emotionally taxing, mirroring the journey of healing and recovery each and every victim takes to become a survivor. Every time Jody wanted to turn back, she remembered those survivors. So, join Jody for the second annual Safenet Summit to support survivors and help her raise $14,439 as she climbs 14,439 feet.
Being a returning climber, Jody is honored to take part in this meaningful event again this year.
