Rian’s children describe her as helpful, friendly, strong and always willing to help a squirrel. Since moving to rural Oklahoma from San Francisco, Rian has encountered an unexpected number of squirrels in need of help...

But that’s not relevant here.

What is relevant is that Rian is climbing a mountain with other fellow supporters of Safenet Services for a second year in a row because she believes in the lifesaving work Safenet does. Until funding isn’t always scarce, Rian says she will just have to keep climbing and helping out where she can.

“I’m grateful for the chance to climb with an agency I support so wholeheartedly. Thanks for whatever you can give to this effort.”

Rian's husband, John, will also be climbing Mount Elbert! He runs marathons, so he thinks a 14er will be fun... We will find out if he still thinks so on August 7th. 

Rian and John will be celebrating 14 years of marriage on August 6, 2025, so he decided to climb with her this year!
