Amanda Ditchik's Story
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I am thrilled to share that I am training for an upcoming marathon! This journey is not just about crossing the finish line—it’s about raising awareness and funds for a cause close to my heart: mental health. Running has been a lifeline for me during some of my toughest times, and I’m running in support of Still I Run, an incredible running group dedicated to promoting mental health through the power of movement.
As someone who has faced life’s challenges—including the stress of motherhood, postpartum depression (PPD), and navigating a divorce—I have experienced firsthand how transformative running can be. Completing my first 5k with my son was a turning point, helping us break free from a difficult rut of colic and loneliness. Later, defeating mom guilt to finish my first half marathon proved to me how powerful resilience and self-care can be.
This cause is especially personal to me because I care deeply about supporting veterans and preventing suicide. Too many individuals, especially our heroes, struggle in silence. Still I Run provides resources and community to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage healing through movement.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Your support will help fund mental health initiatives, provide running scholarships, and build a community that empowers people to take charge of their mental health.
Spread the Word: Share my fundraiser with your friends and family. Together, we can amplify the message and bring hope to those in need.
Join the Movement: Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting, consider lacing up your sneakers and joining a local or virtual running group. Let’s build a community of support and resilience.
Running has been a constant in my life, offering clarity and strength when I needed it most. It has not only helped me grow as a person but has also been a symbol of hope and healing for my family. I want to dedicate this marathon to all those who are still running—toward hope, healing, and brighter days.
