Cops, Kids & Toys and the Chrome Divas of Ithaca are teaming up to present their First Annual 5K Walk-A-Thon!

Net proceeds from the Walk-A-Thon will be split evenly between Cops, Kids & Toys and Cayuga Cancer Center to provide holiday gifts for kids in Tompkins County and provide funds to Cayuga Cancer Center and their team of professionals who support the needs of cancer patients and their families with services from diagnosis and treatment, to discharge and follow-up at home.

Cops, Kids & Toys (CKT) collects, purchases, and distributes toys and gifts to financially disadvantaged children in Tompkins County during the holiday season. Started in the early 1980s by two Ithaca City police officers helping out a few children, it has grown tremendously and is currently supported with volunteers from every law enforcement agency in Tompkins County, the Tompkins County Probation Department, numerous local businesses, and many volunteers. CKT also operates the annual Dump & Run Ithaca sale, a campus- and community-wide waste-reduction and recycling program through which items are collected from students leaving in May, and resold in August to students moving in. Last year, proceeds from the Dump & Run sale supported local nonprofit agencies that help Tompkins County families and children in need.

The Chrome Divas of Ithaca, NY, are a local chapter of the national organization Chrome Divas, Inc. They are part of a ladies-only motorcycle group that includes both riders and passengers, as well as non-riding women. The group emphasizes sisterhood, shared interests in motorcycling, and community involvement.
