Park City Opera is hosting auditions for our recital and concert events in Summer 2025. These auditions are intended specifically for local and regional professional singers and pianists with opera and art song experience. All opportunities are compensated.

Auditions on November 16th will be held in the sanctuary at Park City Community Church. Auditions on November 17th will be held in the community room at the Park City Library. A pianist will be provided to play for your audition, but if you prefer, you may bring your own pianist.

Q: Why only local/regional singers and pianists?

A: In order to work with Park City Opera on our Concert Series, you must have a means of transportation to/around Park City and Summit County for rehearsals and performances. More importantly, Park City Opera is committed to hiring local artists with a connection to our community for Concert Series events. All opportunities are compensated.

Q: What if I'm not local/regional to Park City, Utah, but still want to audition?

We look forward to meeting and hearing you -- we will host auditions for all singers/pianists/instrumentalists again in January 2025 for our Summer 2025 Mainstage opera production. For our Mainstage production, we are able to offer a longer term opportunity (~3 weeks) with housing and compensation that allows non-local musicians to join us in Park City.

Q: What kind of singers and pianists are you looking for?

Park City Opera is a professional opera company looking for artists that are committed to artistic excellence and excited to contribute to the future of opera. We are looking for artists that are pursuing or have completed graduate studies in classical singing, collaborative piano, or comparable training.

Q: What should I prepare for my audition?

Please bring 2 arias and 2 art songs in contrasting styles and languages. Of your 4 selections, at least one should be in English. Please be prepared to tell us why you've chosen this repertoire and what you love about performing it!

Q: What should I bring to my audition?

A printed copy of your resume and a list of the 4 selections you have prepared for the audition. A comprehensive repertoire list and headshot can be helpful too, but don't spend extra time preparing these.

Q: Why do you charge $10 to reserve an audition slot?

This fee goes directly to the pianist who will be playing with you. It also allows us to hear you for a full audition and get a chance to chat with you about your artistic goals. If this fee poses a financial burden, let us know and we can grant you a waiver.

Q: How do I reserve an audition slot?
