Hello! This year, we are participating in the United in Epilepsy Regional Walks to raise support for people impacted by epilepsy and seizures. Also, for the family and friends who suffer from this disease. Rylee, my oldest, is 9 years old. Having just turned one in April 2017 she started having generalized focal seizures aka Todd’s paralysis. We met with the neurologist at Gillette Children’s and finally got diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. In August 2021, Rylee had surgery placement of the vague nerve stimulator in her neck and chest to prevent seizures. Her seizures have evolved over the years including migraines, staring, and other types. Lennox- Gastaut syndrome is usually diagnosed in young years of life. She will be living with epilepsy for the rest of her life.
