Welcome to Sebastopol Charter School (SCS), our cherished school that offers a progressive and tuition-free Waldorf education. We are so pleased to welcome you to our school community!

We are the Charter Foundation (CF), the fundraising entity that has partnered with SCS parents for 31 years to support the school you see today. We are here to enlist your generous help and talent to financially maintain and enrich your child(ren)’s education.

SCS is a charter school and does not receive government funding for facilities or specialty programming. Our school can only offer our high-quality Waldorf curriculum on this 20-acre campus through strong family participation in our fundraisers. Of all the several fundraising opportunities you will learn about throughout the school year, the single most important fundraiser at our school is the Annual Pledge Program.

“Pledging” is a streamlined system gathering monthly or annual donations from current families and extended support systems (such as grandparents and “employer match” programs) to meet essential campus and curriculum needs. 90-100% of families have participated each year since we began … a legacy in which we now invite you to find YOUR affordable, sustainable role. How will you play a part?

Our annual Pledge Goal school-wide is $300,000. Our target Pledge request is $250/month per student or $3,000/year per student, or whatever each family can afford. Any amount you offer is welcomed and respected as a gift that is significant and meaningful to YOU, tracked anonymously class by class and is kept in strict confidence by the CF (and never SCS) Staff.

The CF needs our parent support to help SCS operate and evolve, providing our students and generations to come with this truly special public educational opportunity. Many hands and hearts gathered to create our school’s founding mission, and many have continued to contribute to this vision for the past 31 years. It is our time now as parents to carry the torch and vision onward.

Quick Pledge Facts:

-You can pledge any amount- no pledge is too big or too small

-You can pledge at whatever frequency works best for your family- weekly, monthly, 1x a year, ect.

-You can change your pledge amount at any time

-What you pledge (or don't pledge) is confidential- literally no one except the pledge manager knows that information!

-If you have more than one student at the school, your pledge counts for both of their classes
