Join us for the 19th annual MCPE Spelling Bee!

When: Wednesday, March 18, 2026

Where: Medfield High School Auditorium

Time: 4:00 - 7:30/8:00 PM (Wheelock teams go first; Dale teams arrive by 5 PM).

FAQ:

• How do I sign up a team? You'll need a parent/guardian team "captain" to sign up on behalf of the entire team.

• How do I sign up a Solo Speller? The parent/guardian will sign up the child. The MCPE team will look for other Solo Spellers in the same grade and will be combined into teams of 2-4 students. If, by chance, we do not have enough Solo Spellers to create a team(s), we will notify the parent/guardian(s) and refund as needed.

• How long does my child need to stay at the High School? Students only need to stay for their school's specific round. Once the Wheelock session ends, those students should depart so the Dale session can begin on schedule.

The MCPE Spelling Bee is a low-stress team approach to a spelling bee. There is no spelling out loud in front of the crowd! When the moderator reads a word, team members confer and write the correct spelling on a piece of paper. There will be several rounds for each age group, and winning teams will be crowned for grades 2-3 and grades 4-5. Costumes are encourage but not required!
