My name is Peyton St. George. I am a former Duke softball player and professional athlete based out of Charlotte, NC. If there is one thing that sports have taught me, it's the lowest of lows and the highest of highs. The lessons the lows have taught me greatly outnumber the highs. Most importantly, how to be a mental health advocate who has experienced her own struggles, lost friends to mental health struggles, and continues to share her story so that others don't have to struggle the way I did.
After retiring from professional softball in August of 2024, I set an extremely aggressive goal for myself to run all 7 major marathons. Running has been the only thing following sports that can replicate the pressure, the achievements, the camaraderie, and even the struggles that one may face both physically and mentally in a sport they devote their entire life to.
I have always been an athlete who chooses vulnerability over ego in the way that I share my story so that I can be a lifeline for others. Mental health is not just a passion of mine, but it is a way of life. It is embedded in every single thing I do, and will do for the rest of my life! If I can help just 1 person, then I have done my job. Through running & fundraising for Still I Run, I can continue to do so.
