Soroptimist of Colfax is a club that has been serving the greater Colfax area (Meadow Vista to Alta) for 79 years. Soroptimist International is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with the access to education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women", and that's what the organization strives to achieve.

Soroptimist's major project is the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award, which assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects. Each year more that $1.5 million is disbursed through cash awards at various levels of the organization. Recipients, who often have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse, may use the awards to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare and transportation.

Soroptimist of Colfax seeks applicants each year to be considered for the Live Your Dream Award awarded by the Colfax Club. The winning recipient is then considered for a regional Live Your Dream Award, and regional award recipients are considered for an the International Live Your Dream Award.

Soroptimist of Colfax has donated thousands of dollars to Colfax High School seniors and participated in many community projects through the 79 years of service.
