Help Us Make a Difference for Cats in Northwest Arkansas

Each year, we provide essential services for around 450 cats, covering everything from spaying/neutering and vaccinations to microchipping and testing. With the cost of care averaging $300 per cat and adoption fees at only $80, we rely heavily on donations to bridge the gap.

Like everyone, we've felt the impact of inflation. Rising costs for supplies and medical care, paired with a decrease in donations, have made our work even more challenging. At the current rates, it takes over $135,000 annually to provide basic care for the cats we rescue. Every donation helps us meet this need and continue providing life-saving services for cats in Northwest Arkansas.

Meet Sunshine, One of the Lives We’ve Impacted

Sunshine is one of the many cats who came to us in urgent need of help. She showed up on the doorstep of a kindhearted woman, who quickly saw she was underweight and had a painful wound on her neck. The woman wanted to help but didn’t have the funds to cover what was likely to be expensive emergency care.

Desperate, she reached out online for resources. Luckily, Mew Cat Rescue was able to respond through our Mew Cares program, which provides financial support to help prevent owner surrenders. Thanks to the program, Sunshine received emergency care and has since been treated for her wound, with additional tests to assess her ongoing needs. “I’m so thankful for Mew,” her rescuer said. “I didn’t know there were local resources that could help me. Now, we plan to keep her as part of our family.”

Through Mew Cares, we provide a solution that keeps beloved pets in their homes, offering support to community members and keeping cats with the families who love them. Sunshine’s story is just one example of the impact your generosity makes possible.
