Six unknown have been named and can be laid to rest

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Operation ID, six people who tragically died in Maverick County have been identified and can be buried. The Border Vigil is coordinating the purchase of six basic coffins for these family members; Maverick County will cover the other costs associated with their burial.

Each basic coffin costs $200, we need 6 coffins. 

This is a profound moment of human dignity and witness. One of the deceased is a grandmother whose grandchild was buried here earlier this year, we believe their family deserves the comfort of knowing their loved ones are together and honored. We know that others have family members in the US who hope to one day visit their gravesites.
