Youth of the Year

On Saturday, February 7, 2026, BGCWV will select our next Youth of the Year!

You can be a sponsor/donor of youth. This is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Premier Recognition Experience for youth. Youth of the Year is our signature effort to foster a new generation of leaders, fully prepared to live and lead in a diverse, global, and integrated world economy.

In the 21st-century world and workplace, leadership skills such as communication, goal-setting, and teamwork are essential for everyone – especially young people preparing to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood. This comprehensive leadership development program includes:

Youth of the Month – Leadership Recognition Programs
Junior Youth of the Year – Leadership Readiness Programs, and
Youth of the Year – Leadership Development Program

The High School finalists are invited to travel to Sacramento, CA, in the spring to participate in advocacy training, meetings with their State Senators and State Assemblymembers, as a way for them to share their story about the Club experience.
