“Sharing our talent to benefit other children is so heartwarming and fulfilling!” ~Meagan Lee and Kaitlyn Lee

MEAGAN AND KAITLYN’S STORY: In 2018, 10-year-old young pianist Meagan Lee was looking for ways to share her musical talent that would make a difference in her community and in the world. So she joined GMRF’s “Children Helping Children'' fundraising mission and initiated the annual Piano Solo Fundraising Concert. In the second year, her equally talented sister, cellist Kaitlyn Lee joined her to take the concert program to the next level with their beautiful cello and piano duets. Meagan and Kaitlyn’s wish is not only to raise funds for GMRF’s mission but also to raise much-needed awareness. They have proudly raised over $13,000 through their concerts since 2018! On behalf of the children we serve, we at GMRF are so grateful that the Lee’s are part of our community. You don't want to miss a wonderful concert given by Meagan Lee, who is currently a scholarship student at Staten Island Academy, a scholarship piano student at Manhattan School of Music Precollege Division, and top prize winner of numerous international piano competitions; and Kaitlyn Lee, who is currently a pre-med student at Cornell University, as well as a cellist in the Cornell University Symphony Orchestra.

ABOUT GMRF: The Global Medical Relief Fund (GMRF) was founded by Elissa Montanti in 1997 to bring hope to children who are missing or have lost the use of their limbs, have been severely burned, or are otherwise damaged due to the atrocities of war, natural disasters, accidents, illness or violence. GMRF partners with Shriners Hospitals for Children, Northwell Health, and other hospitals and private doctors who donate their time and professional services. GMRF welcomes the majority of children to the Dare to Dream House on Staten Island, where they and their parents/guardians have the opportunity to meet and bond with other families from around the world who are in similar circumstances. The combination of medical care and these unique, personal relationships has the power to wholly and positively change a child’s and their family’s life forever. To date, GMRF has helped over 400 children from 57 different countries with over 1800 medical visits. You have the power to help us help even more children!
