I recently graduated with my DMA in Sacred Music with Choral Conducting from Baylor University. 

I am the incoming Assistant Professor of Music (tenure-track) and Director of Choral Activities at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO. 

Derrick is a 20-year Texas choral music veteran with successful teaching experience at the high school and junior high levels. His award-winning choirs have been invited ensembles to state and regional conferences of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Southwestern American Choral Directors Association in 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2014. In 2015, the Pearland Kantorei Madrigals Choir won First Place at the prestigious American Classics Madrigal and Chamber Choir Festival in San Antonio and in 2016, served as the featured Honor Choir.

I am a life-long student so attending the Cascade experience will continue to craft the art of choral conducting.
