Conor Pickering “Forever 24” Scholarship

Conor’s scholarship will support a graduating senior from The Sound School who is continuing his or her education in a Trade School or Public Safety/EMT Training. Conor was especially proud of his work as a heavy equipment operator for NPL Construction. The Pickering Family would like to support a young man or woman like Conor pursuing their dreams. Over the past year we have heard so many stories about Conor and the impact he has had on his family, friends, coworkers and quite frankly people he just met. In Conor’s death we were faced with his wish to be an organ donor. Last November Conor was recognized by New England Donor Services for the donation of his body to the benefit of HUNDREDS of recipients. After hearing about this amazing impact on so many others who live, we feel that adding New England Donor Services as a recipient of support from Conor’s fund can help so many people who live!

Join Conor’s family and friends to honor his memory at the 2nd Annual Conor Pickering “Forever 24” Golf Tournament. Players, sponsors, supporters, and friends are invited to participate. Proceeds from the tournament will support the Conor Pickering “Forever 24” Scholarship.

About Conor:

The “Forever 24” Golf Tournament is held in memory of Conor Patrick Pickering, who we tragically lost in a motor vehicle accident at the way too early age of 24 on June 2, 2022. For those who knew Conor, we all know that he loved to live life to its fullest. His love of life, family, and friends were unending. He was first up to help anyone in need of assistance and in his typical take-charge fashion, Conor was a friend first but a leader amongst his peers.

Conor attended the Sound School which was a perfect match for his love of the water. Whether it was at the bow of a boat, reeling in a fish, or riding the waves on a jet ski, he was always at home on the seas. Over the years he was an avid sports fan and active participant playing baseball and lacrosse among other sports. He spent many hours on the golf course, particularly at Orange Hills where he not only played but worked on the grounds crew in his early years, and why holding this tournament there is especially important. And, while his golf game may not have always been “up to par!”, his epic battles with his brother Ryan on the course were always a treat, not only for both of them but the others who were a part of his foursome on any given day!

So, today on “his” golf course we celebrate and remember a life well lived. We are asking all of Conor’s friends and the friends of the Pickering family to support us in honoring Conor and to support the Conor Pickering “Forever 24” Scholarship and Seatbelt Awareness Fund in his name. By joining us as a player or being a sponsor at one of our various levels you will be assisting us in this great cause and honoring a young man who we will forever remember at being 24!
