Funding Shafiga's hairdressing kiosk: the Loan Repayment

When single mom Shafiga (shown above, during her training) completed the two-year hairdressing course provided by her late sponsor, Linda, in December 2024, the Revy Foundation and our Ugandan counterpart, Byonabyangu Bright were able to raise half of the $600 total needed to buy a kiosk and stock it with the appliances and products required for Shafiga's hairdressing business.  Then we hit a plateau for more than a month.  Together, Shafiga, Byonabyangu and Revy made the decision to borrow the remaining $300 from the Education account set up for her daughter by friends and family of her dear Linda, with the repayment occurring as quickly as possible, specifically within 18 months.  This campaign has the goal of repaying that loan.

This $300 repayment is coupled with the $945 "mortgage" on Shafiga and Nabirye's house (in a separate campaign at https://givebutter.com/ArwpiW) in a plan administered by Byonabyangu under his Ugandan nonprofit, the Byonabyangu Community Empowerment Foundation (BCEF).  As Shafiga repays the gift to BCEF at $1.25/week, that microloan fund will be used to invest in small business ventures across eastern Uganda.
