RE: PARTICIPATION CONTRIBUTION
Dear Music Students and Parents,
Welcome both new and returning students/parents to the Instrumental Music program at Yorba Linda Middle School. We, as boosters, are very excited to welcome you to this year in music. There is going to be a lot happening in your child’s life this year musically and we look forward to seeing your child’s growth.
Instrumental music is more than just another elective, it is a character building opportunity that can last a lifetime. Your children will be learning to explore and develop his/her abilities to perform, create, listen, and understand music. They will learn the importance of hard work and commitment as they are part of an ensemble. They will learn to trust others and know the importance of teamwork. Through the combined efforts of the students, parents and director, we can reach new heights of growth this upcoming year.
We will accept participation contributions of $150 for advanced groups and $125 for intermediate groups to help cover the costs of our program which ARE NOT funded by the school budget. These funds, along with fundraising monies are used to cover the many necessary expenses incurred throughout the year. Festival entry fees, instrument purchases, instrument repairs, insurance, sheet music, coaching, and the End of Year Party are just a sampling of the many expenses incurred each year. If the contribution is a hardship for your family, please speak to our boosters.
