Who We Are

Superbands is a nonprofit 501c3 organization dedicated to harnessing the power of music and fandoms to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention. We believe that by uniting passionate communities, we can create a lasting impact, breaking the stigma around youth mental health, and save lives.

A Fandom Driven Campaign for Suicide Prevention

The Problem Suicide is a pressing public health issue affecting countless lives. While there are many resources available, awareness and stigma remain significant barriers to seeking help.

Our Campaign The Songs Within Us campaign (Sept 2024) aims to harness the power of fandom to break down these barriers. The campaign recognizes that music – and love for an artist/band – resonates deeply, often carrying messages of hope, resilience, and connection. We're empowering fandoms to use their platforms to spread awareness about suicide prevention, offer support, and create a space where fans feel heard and understood.

How it Works:

Fandom Empowerment: We provide partnered fandoms with the tools and resources to create impactful content.
Customizable Templates: Our Canva templates allow fandoms to easily customize messages aligned with the fandom's unique voice and aesthetic.
Content Calendar: A structured content calendar provides guidance on when to share specific types of content, ensuring maximum impact.
Creative Freedom: We also create flexibility for fandoms to post additional content throughout the month to amplify key messages (and/or stay aligned to the account’s existing content).

Facts and Stats: Sharing vital information about suicide and suicide prevention to spread awareness about this pressing crisis.
Resources: Directing fans to essential resources like the Crisis Hotline and support services that are easily accessible from anywhere.
Advice and Tips: Offering fans practical guidance on identifying and supporting someone (or themselves) in crisis.
Inspiration and Empowerment: Celebrating the power of music and community to overcome challenges.
