Miami Music Project
On Saturday, May 16th at 8pm, join Nicole Henry for a night of soulful music to benefit Miami Music Project's virtual programs that have been bringing change to Miami's underserved youth during this uncertain time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on a series of unprecedented challenges. Many of us can't quite grasp what our children have been going through, being pulled into a shut off world for who knows how long. This is especially difficult for those families living in Miami's under-resourced communities. All of us at Miami Music Project saw it first hand as soon as schools closed, and immediately decided to create Miami Music ProjectCONNECT, an online virtual learning platform to keep our orchestra programs running for the rest of the school year, and beyond.
Through Miami Music ProjectCONNECT, we aim to create a lasting impact, providing meaningful musical experiences, healing, and hope during this stressful time.
Music is an integral part of all our lives, and it is Miami Music Project's mission to ensure those who need it the most are given the opportunity to experience it, no matter the situation. That is why we aim to continue to provide our services online through the end of the school year and into the summer through our Virtual Summer Music Camp.
It is no secret that financial strains of the current pandemic are affecting all of us, individuals and institutions, and will continue to bring hardship for months and years to come. Shifting all of our programming to a virtual platform, and continuing to provide the education and services to our children and families, means keeping all of our teaching artists engaged and employed. This is why our dear Board Member and award-winning jazz vocalist Nicole Henry decided to dedicate her concert and share her talents with you in the hope of raising funds needed to keep the children learning.
All proceeds raised will benefit Miami Music ProjectCONNECT to ensure music can stay in the lives of Miami's children, providing hope and lasting change within their homes and communities.
