Helping Low-Income Families Spay/Neuter Pets

We believe Pets & People Live Better Together.

One of the most important services we offer is our low-cost/low-income spay/neuter program. This fundraiser will subsidize spay/neuter surgeries for pets in low-income families.

Controlling Community Cat Colonies

Spaying/neutering, vaccinating, and ear-tipping community cats (Trap/Neuter/Return or TNR) has proven to be the most effective and humane way to control the population of unowned community cats. To learn more and dig into data, visit the Alley Cat Allies website.

We partner with local groups to address the community cat population. One example is the Cat Crusaders- a group of dedicated, compassionate volunteers working hard to help cats in our area. They trap feral cats, get them spayed or neutered, and return them to the area they came from. They also identify cats who are homeless but not feral and help them transition to loving homes.

Missy is a heartwarming example of their success. A long-haired, blue-eyed, beauty, Missy came to Second Chance riddled with pellets from a BB gun. She was surviving on the streets but she was not feral. Our vet clinic spayed and vaccinated her and healed her wounds. Our shelter staff showered her with loving care. Soon Missy was adopted and is now living a pampered life in a warm, safe home. Her new mom says, "She is doing so well in our home. WE LOVE HER SO MUCH."

Your gift will support spaying and neutering for low-income family cats and dogs, and TNR for community cats.

A $40 donation can spay/neuter, vaccinate, and ear tip a feral cat.

We provided TNR to 440 feral cats in 2022.

The same year, our Vet Clinic altered 578 cats and dogs in our communities and our shelter.
