Elyse Wolff's Story
Most people who know me know how deeply committed I am to Holocaust education. Since 2017, I have served as an appointed commissioner to the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education, in 2018 I co-founded 3GNJ, and wine 2020 I have spoken in countless classrooms and to many community groups, sharing my grandmother’s story of survival.
Every time I tell the story of my grandmother, Yolan Moldovan Lichtman, I add another link to our family’s chain — keeping her memory, her name, and her resilience alive. It is both an honor and a responsibility - I want as many people as possible to hear her story, even though it forces us to confront the very worst of humanity and the unimaginable suffering endured by so many Jewish families.
Today, antisemitism and hate are on the rise. At the same time, the number of Holocaust survivors still with us grows smaller each year. The responsibility to preserve their stories now rests with my generation — and with those who will follow. “Never Again” must be more than words. It must be education, action, and remembrance.
Please consider making a donation to help us reach more classrooms, more students, and more communities. Your support ensures that these stories continue to be told — and that history is remembered so it is never repeated.
Together, we can turn remembrance into impact.
