My grandparents, Rudolph and Trudy Herz, fled Nazi Germany due to the persecution of the Jewish population. In order to survive they were uprooted from their homes and forced to flee the country. They both left behind their existence as they had come to know it. With extreme difficulty and numerous challenges, they ultimately made it to the United States. Tragically, many of their family members were killed by the Nazis.
In light of the recent rise in antisemitism, the mission of 3GNY is more critical than ever. Your support will enable 3GNY to continue educating students in the New York area by allowing grandchildren to share their grandparents' personal stories of survival and resilience in classrooms and communities. Holocaust education is essential to prevent hatred from taking root in our youth.
As a third-generation descendant of Holocaust refugees, I feel a deep responsibility to share my grandparents' story to help build a brighter, more tolerant future.
