The spark that became STEM From Dance was struck when our founder & CEO, Yamilee Toussaint, walked into her first mechanical engineering class at MIT. She was shocked at how few women of color were in the room.

As she stepped into her own STEM career, she was moved to use dance — a confidence builder that helped her power her way through tough engineering classes — to light the way for girls of color to pursue STEM careers. Claire Simier - Member, Board of Directors, STEM From Dance

Claire Simier serves as an executive coach and advisor to organizations, boards and senior leaders across various industries. Her commitment to mentorship serves as the backbone of her work and firm, Simier Partners, which strives to make an impact on community through nonprofit affiliations and activities. In addition to serving on the board of directors of STEM From Dance, Claire chairs the board of Edukate NYC, a non-for-profit organization that supports students with dyslexia. She is a trustee of the Albertine Foundation, promoting French-American relations through cultural and educational projects and served as a member of the fashion brand Chloe’s Sustainability Advisory Board, to name a few.
