Hi, my name is Chloe Pisano and I am an 8th grader at Albert Leonard Middle School in New Rochelle. As you might know, for the past 6 months I have been rowing for City Island rowing and I love it. Going to practice is the thing I look forward to every day. The girls I have only just met are now my best friends! This team has introduced me to people all over Westchester county and NYC. I practice 5 times a week all year round. In the fall, summer, and spring, we are out on the water off of City Island in the Bronx. In the winter we work out in the gym working on, rowing (on the rowing machine/erg), running, lifting, and conditioning. It is hard work but it will pay off in the spring season. In the fall, spring, and summer, we compete in regattas. This past season, I won 1st place in a coxed middle school quad (a four person, two oar boat) and 3rd place in an novice 8 (8 person, one oar boat). This past season I have also coxed in a middle school quad in Saratoga. 

In order to raise money for equipment, we do something called an Ergathon. An Ergathon is a long period of time or piece that we do on March 2nd. Varsity rows on a rowing machine for 90 minutes and JV and Novice (me) row for 60 minutes. We raise money from our friends and family for the Ergathon. This is the hardest piece we do all year! 

This year we are raising money for 2 new state-of-the-art boats, a new doubles dock, and gym equipment. Our goal for this year is $45,000. My personal goal is $1,750. If I get to $1,000 I get my name on the Louise, our nicest boat! Please help me get to this. Update: since everyone has been so supportive and generous I have decided to up my goal too $3500 thank you everyone so much!!!
