Ritz, affectionately nicknamed “Ritzy,” is an extraordinary Great Pyrenees who found his own unique path at Flying Pigs Sanctuary. Originally rescued as a guardian dog, Ritz came to us from a kind family offering a litter of Pyrenees/Anatolian pups (free to a good home on Craigslist) in the hopes he’d protect our small herd of goats and sheep. However, within 24 hours of his arrival, Ritz escaped our “escape-proof” fencing—every single hour. It quickly became clear that Ritz had a very different idea of what his job should be!
