The Practice of Mandala Offering
Mandala offering is a central ritual practice in Tibetan Buddhism and the third of the four uncommon preliminary practices (ngöndro). Its specific aim is to purify attachment and cultivate generosity. The practice integrates visualization, recitation of offering verses, and physical offerings made with the mandala set. The primary function of mandala offering is the accumulation of merit. Through the unified activity of body, speech, and mind, we open into a vast and profound expression of generosity, offering with boundless devotion to all objects of refuge.
