One Call, 40 Cats, and an Urgent Plea for Help

What began as a kind-hearted effort by an elderly couple to feed a few stray cats grew into something that no one could manage alone.

And when we received a call to help, we couldn't say no. Our humane officers went out this morning and gathered almost 40 cats and kittens, all of whom were frightened, hungry, and in need of care.

Our clinical intake team began providing vaccines, wellness exams, and medical care as soon as the cats and kittens arrived. And when they’re healthy and old enough, each one will be spayed or neutered so this heartbreaking cycle doesn’t continue. 

This unexpected rescue will cost about $5,000, a significant strain on our small shelter, but we won’t let them down.
