PFLAG Oakland/East Bay is a vibrant, love-powered nonprofit chapter of the PFLAG National organization.  For four decades, our group of parents and allies has been showing up in the East Bay to provide often life-changing education, support, and community to parents, allies and LGBTQ+ people.

Today, with the LGBTQ+ community – and trans people in particular – under unprecedented attacks, we are seizing the moment to ignite the joy and purpose of our PFLAG community by celebrating our 40^th anniversary. We invite you to join us for “40 Years Strong:  Celebrating our Past and Fiercely Fighting for our Future” on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the Berkeley City Club.  

This memorable evening will feature special guests, including Alexis Madrigal, co-host of KQED Forum; an inspiring and compelling program; live music from Oakland School for the Arts, tasty bites and drinks and dancing!

To mark our anniversary, we have set an ambitious goal of raising $30,000 to support our PFLAG Oakland/East Bay chapter and three sibling LGBTQ+ organizations at a time of unprecedented need:

The Pacific Center of Berkeley and the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center, which are both facing increasingly precarious funding while providing vital services for transgender youth and young adults in the East Bay.

PFLAG National to support its work in fighting bans against medical care for transgender youth and young adults including PFLAG v. Trump.
