Your support matters! We owe our triumphant return to you and to all our community members who stood by the company and its artists during a time of unparalleled hardship, ensuring that Opera Columbus’s work never stopped. But even as we celebrate exciting days ahead, we know the pandemic is far from behind us and that our continued strength is thanks to you.
As Opera Columbus embarks on its 40th anniversary season, we are pleased to begin with a special fundraising matching campaign to support our community of artists. Thanks to a generous contribution from the Capen Family, any donations from September 20th until December 31st will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $40,000. Charles and Sharron Capen were keen to support the unique artists at Opera Columbus and hope this matching challenge will inspire others to do the same in honor of the 40th Anniversary season. This is a special opportunity to double your contribution.
Your birthday gift to Opera Columbus is essential, transformative, and is an investment in the ARTISTS who perform with our company each season.
Your $40 gift underwrites the purchase of the music for one artist to study and prepare for their role.
Your $140 gift provides an Opera Columbus artist with one costume for Fellow Travelers.
Your $240 gift allows Opera Columbus the ability to hire a local musician to accompany one of our productions for one performance.
Your $400 gift underwrites a performance of our education program in local schools, ensuring that students across central Ohio can experience the amazing joy of music in their classrooms (in person or virtually!).
Your $4,000 gift underwrites an artist's salary for one production. Did you know that Opera Columbus is providing equal salaries to men and women, veterans, and new artists for similar roles within the company? This is an important step in changing the landscape of the industry.
Your $40,000 gift underwrites the sets for our mainstage production of Tosca, bringing the grandeur of opera back to the Southern Theatre while also sharing a classic opera from a woman’s perspective.
