Brenda Arnold's Story
In 2017, I moved back home to Nashville from Arizona. My sister, Becky Sullivan, was teaching a couple of different classes for adults with IDD. She asked me if I would like to volunteer for either one of those classes. I was able to volunteer for both and I was introduced to a whole new life. When I walked into the first class, it felt like God had his arms open so wide and I received so many precious hugs and light and laughter and joy!
I have seen, up close and personal, what a dark world this can be. It's hard on the families to know where to even begin when they get the news that their child has some sort of disability. What Brad and his family are doing is such a wonderful, outstanding, selfless way to help others with resources and information to help these families find out where & how to get help for their loved ones.
I went into these classes feeling sorry for these "peeps". God changed my thoughts very quickly. Instead of seeing any type of disability, I saw these peeps with all kinds of abilities! What a joy it is to be a part of their lives and to learn from them! They teach me more than I could ever teach them.
If anyone ever has a chance to volunteer or donate to such a wonderful cause like Jacob's Audible, your rewards will be so much greater than you could ever imagine! Please help be the light in this world which can be so dark.
After all, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do".
Ephesians 2:10
Ask God what it is He prepared for you in advance to do. He WILL let you know. God's blessings to all.
Keep on keepin' on & keep the faith!
