The 4C3 Project (Formally the Zeta Lambda Education Foundation)

Uplifting Youth in the Hampton Roads Area

The 4C3 Project was founded as the Zeta Lambda Education Foundation and was incorporated in 1998 as a public not-for-profit organization. The mission of the the 4C3 Project is to promote educational and community involvement for middle and high school through mentorship, scholarships, leadership, and community awareness in the Hampton Roads Area.

The 4C3 Project raises funds for the awarding of scholarships to deserving high school students and provides financial support for educational initiatives at all grade levels that encourages students to excel in school and go to college or post-secondary programs. The foundation operates primarily on the Virginia Peninsula, stretching from Hampton to Williamsburg.

The 4C3 Project supports MEGAGENESIS.  For 24 years MEGAGENESIS has been conducted annually in collaboration with Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Newport News Public Schools, Cooperating Hampton Roads Organization for Minorities in Engineering, and Denbigh Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., serving over 20,000 students and parents across the Virginia Peninsula.  This program featuring college recruiters, career workshops, corporate and community exhibits, and a keynote motivational speaker, is open to all students, regardless of race, gender, academic standing, or economic status.

The 4C3 Project supports mentoring through the Leadership Development Institute (LDI) and Project Alpha. LDI seeks best high school males to instill leadership qualities and skills that will serve them as they become tomorrow’s leaders today. Project Alpha is conducted in partnership with Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Newport News Public Schools, targeting middle school students with the primary goals to provide education for young males on sexuality, fatherhood and the role of males in relationships.

The 4C3 Project supports scholarships.  Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has provided over $85,000 in scholarship funding.  The Foundation, in conjunction with Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., seeks those candidates who best exemplify academic excellence, service to their community, and caring for their fellow human beings.
